Geary Dance Center Summer Dance Camps

Geary Dance Center Summer Dance Camps offer a mix of dance styles, including Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, West African, Afro-Brazilian Modern Dance, Bhangra, Bollywood, Kathak, Musical Theater Jazz, and Salsa. Campers also take Pilates-based conditioning and stretch & strengthen classes as part of their weekly schedule. After the last class on Friday, there is an informal showing of the progress the dancers have made.

• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Weekly camps run SDC Week 1: 6/15–9/19 and SDC Week 2: 6/22–6/26 for both age groups, 9:30am–3:30pm, with campers receiving 20 hours a week of dance classes; Extended Care is available 8–9:15am and 3:45–6pm.
• Price: $600 per weekly camp, with 5% discounts for 3 or more full-week camps and for full-week camps purchased before March 15, plus additional credits and policies as described, and Extended Care available for $25 per hour charged in 15-minute increments, scheduled and paid in advance.

Summer Dance Camps are geared to a beginning/intermediate level and are divided by age into 8–10 and 11 and up, with dance classes and choreography appropriate for each age group. Camps offer styles that may be new for most dancers, even those with several years of dance study, and are described as a perfect camp for the dancer who wants to find a dance style that speaks to them. Space is limited to a maximum of 8 campers ages 8–10 and 12 campers ages 11 and up per week, with enrollment purposely kept low so dancers can receive maximum attention from master teachers, and GDC reserves the right to cancel camp due to insufficient enrollment. GDC states that it strives to make a safe and welcoming space for all, regardless of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, weight, height, national origin (ancestry), language, disability, marital status, immigration status, or military status, in any of its activities or operations, and uses the phrase “Everyone Can Dance - come join us!” in its materials. All students must fill out a Registration Form and Waiver of Liability, and all sales are final with specific refund, credit, and cancellation fee policies, including payment in full to secure enrollment and possible tuition credit toward semester tuition under stated conditions. GDC is serviced by Muni via the Geary, Park Presidio, Fulton, Clement, and California lines.
