• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: After-school options Monday–Friday during the school year, Saturday sessions, and summer day camps including a morning program and main program; summer camp dates run Monday, July 20th through Thursday, August 13th, 2026
• Price: If families choose to pay privately, Pomeroy Summer Camp (12pm–6pm) costs $90 per day, and the Morning Program (8:30am–12pm) is $60 per day.
Children get picked up from school by bus for the program. Programs operate 6 days a week and 290 days a year. Full scholarships are available for the afternoon program from CDSS, and GGRC respite hours can be used for all program hours, and almost all participants attend at no daily out-of-pocket cost. Completion of an intake, enrollment paperwork, and a $25 deposit is required to enroll, and families are responsible for any fees that GGRC, DCYF, or the California Department of Education Scholarship does not cover. Enrollment paperwork includes a current IEP, Physician’s Medical Form, Emergency Form, Intake Form, Licensing Forms, and an Application for Service.
Children and Teens Staff have an average of 3 or more years of experience working exclusively with children, teens, and adults with disabilities, and all lead teachers have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Kinesiology, or Art and Design. The program uses a Person Centered Thinking approach. The mission of Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center is to provide recreational, vocational and educational opportunities for people with disabilities through programs and services that encourage self-expression, promote personal achievement, and lead to greater independence. The Center is a San Francisco nonprofit that operates as a community day center for children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities and traumatic and acquired brain injuries, with volunteers and interns offering additional support throughout the year, and partnerships with Occupational Therapists, SLP clinics, and Behavioral Consultants. Facilities are available to the general public for swim lessons, therapeutic swim classes, and event rentals. Victor Ha is listed as the contact for the Transition Program.
