Zoo Camp takes place at a zoo that is home to more than 2,000 exotic, endangered, and rescued animals in 100 acres of gardens located directly on the Pacific Coast and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Families connected with this program also have access to features such as the Leanne Roberts African Region and Valentine Family Savanna with multiple species, Hearst Grizzly Gulch with rescued grizzly sisters Kachina and Kiona, the Lipman Family Lemur Forest, Penguin Island with a large colony of Magellanic penguins, the Jones Family Gorilla Preserve, farm animals in the Fisher Family Children’s Zoo, a historic 1921 Dentzel Carousel, the 1904 Little Puffer steam train, the reimagined Elinor Friend Playground, and educational programs for different age groups and levels.
