About
San Francisco Zoo Education Programs include week-long Zoo Camps that focus on conservation, animal activism, and hands-on art and science, along with animal and habitat exploration and wildlife fun. Camp activities include science experiments, nature art, and going behind the scenes for special animal encounters. The programs also include Fall Adventures Bilingual Camps and the Little Learners ABC’s education program, which focuses on the A, B, C’s of zoo animals with fun facts and connections to science following education frameworks and recommendations for early learners from 3 to 5 years old.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Week-long Summer 2026 Zoo Camps run Monday–Friday, with multiple weeks from mid-June through early August; Little Learner sessions take place on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings starting in September 2026; Fall Bilingual Camps run in two Saturday afternoon sessions in Fall 2026
• Price: Fall Bilingual Camp cost: $550.
The mission of San Francisco Zoo & Gardens is to connect all people with wildlife, inspire caring for nature and advance conservation action. The SF Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The historic 1921 Dentzel Carousel and the 1904 miniature Little Puffer steam train are described as treasured by generations of visitors. San Francisco Zoo states that it is deeply committed to its community and accepts requests for donations of admission tickets as sponsorship for live and silent auctions, with priority given to Bay Area schools and other organizations related to its mission to connect action.
