The Richmond Neighborhood Center, 741 30th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94121
About
The Richmond Neighborhood Center Youth Programs include youth programs that offer an after school program, Neighborhood Clean-Up activities, and events such as a Lunar New Year Celebration, Night Market, a parade, and Clement Lunch Lanes. The programs are part of a broader set of activities that also include food security initiatives and support for local businesses and neighborhood events.
The Richmond Neighborhood Center was founded in 1980 as a nonprofit organization after residents rallied to save the former Lucinda Weeks School from demolition and established the organization. Its mission states that it provides youth, families, and seniors in San Francisco with essential services, meaningful connections, and leadership opportunities at every stage of life. The organization has community and food security programs and works with government partners, corporate partners, and corporate volunteering partners. It shares space with the Cross Cultural Family Center and the Community Music Center and is described as a second home for everyone in the community. The organization has a leadership team that includes Executive Director Michelle Cusano, Chief Financial Officer Denny David, Chief Development Officer Elisabeth Landa, Chief Strategy Officer Cliff Yee, MSW, Operations Director Rachel Marasigan, and multiple program managers and coordinators for elementary school programs, high school programs, youth workforce development, family engagement, restorative practice, and community programs. The board of directors includes President Michael Fisher, Vice-President John Vuong, Secretary Cathy Hongola-Baptista, Treasurer Melissa Chu, and several additional board members.
