Tinker Preschool is a Reggio-Emilia inspired progressive early childhood program that emphasizes connecting with nature and engaging in S.T.E.A.M. education. The program includes an Inner Richmond Hybrid Forest program, a Cole Valley Mandarin Immersion program, and a Noe Valley English and Mandarin Dual Language program. The learning environment is described as nurturing and encourages innovation, invites creativity, and inspires multifaceted thinking. The staff is a team of experienced educators.

The mission of Tinker Preschool is for children, referred to as Tinkerlings, to become confident, lifelong learners who value process over product, connect with the natural environment, are socially-emotionally resilient, think critically and creatively through S.T.E.A.M. education, and use teamwork to make new meanings of the world around them. The program offers kindergarten consultation and guidance when applying to Bay Area schools, including providing recommendations and evaluations, assisting with the application process, and acting as a liaison for chosen schools’ admissions directors. Parent involvement includes regular parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and events. The program states that it values building strong relationships with children and their families and works collaboratively to create a community that celebrates diversity and promotes inclusivity.
