Activities also include Wild Science experiments, doing science and art, making slime, journaling, playing with friends in the trees, digging in the dirt, and creative projects with art and music, along with themed actions like Build a Fort, Climb a Tree, Hold a Bug, and Smell the Sea!

• Ages: 4–18 years old

Tree Frog Treks Wild Science! Camps offers Science and Nature educational programming for kids, with campers outside every day and spending the entire session exploring outdoors. All sites are for rising 1st–5th grade campers (ages 5+), with “Littles” programs for pre-K and kindergarten campers (ages 4–5) at Golden Gate and McLaren Park, and a Teen Machine Camp for 6th–9th grade campers (ages 11+), including Carbon Kids Camp – Francisco Park for teens. Programs include Summer and School Break Camps, class visits, and Adventure Treks, and campers travel by chartered bus or Muni to sites of inquiry around the Bay Area during each session. The program is in its 27th year of trekking, building forts and friendships, and being “wild, green and free,” and it is described as an award-winning program. Campers spend every day with an expert team of naturalists, and programming includes Wild Science experiments and live Animal Encounters with a collection of rescued reptiles, amphibians, and more. Tree Frog Treks states the mission is to foster an attachment to and curiosity about the world through hands-on activities such as making slime, holding reptiles, going on hikes, and looking for critters. The program’s credo is “Get Out and Get Dirty!” and its motto is “Build a Fort, Climb a Tree, Hold a Bug, and Smell the Sea!” Scholarships are available, and the “10 Sends 1” approach means that after 10 campers sign up, 1 camper attends for free based on desire to “Get Out and Get Dirty,” with financial need considered.
