Tree Frog Treks Wild Science! Camps offers activities such as exploring outdoors, hiking, walking among the trees, and going on hikes. Campers take part in hands-on animal experiences and live animal encounters, including meeting and holding rescued reptiles and amphibians like lizards, snakes, tortoises, frogs, insects, and spiders used as Animal Ambassadors. The program also includes wild science experiments, making slime, exploring science and nature, doing science and art, art and music projects, splashing in the water, digging in the dirt, looking for critters, playing with friends in the trees, and Free Choice time such as Build a Fort, Climb a Tree, Hold a Bug, and Smell the Sea.

Tree Frog Treks Wild Science! Camps is described as an award-winning summer camp program that offers Science and Nature educational programming for kids. All sites are for rising 1st–5th grade campers ages 5 and older, with “Littles” programs for pre-K and kinder campers ages 4–5, and a Teen Machine Camp for 6th–9th grade campers ages 11 and older. Campers hike with an expert team of naturalists, and experienced naturalists run the programs. The program’s mission is to foster an attachment to and curiosity about the world, and it uses rescued reptiles, amphibians, and more as Animal Ambassadors during Animal Time and other activities. Programs include Summer and School Break Camps, class visits, and Adventure Treks, and campers may travel by chartered bus or Muni to sites of inquiry around the Bay Area. Tree Frog Treks Wild Science! Camps is celebrating its 27th year of trekking, follows the credo “Get Out and Get Dirty!”, and uses the motto “Build a Fort, Climb a Tree, Hold a Bug, and Smell the Sea!”. The program offers a scholarship structure in which after 10 campers, one camper attends for free, with financial need considered.
