About

Tree Frog Treks Wild Science! offers Wild Science! Summer Camp, after-school and in-school science enrichment programs, and McCoppin Elementary before and after-school programming. Activities include outdoor exploration, science and nature, art and music, animal encounters, live reptiles and amphibians, hands-on experiments, and outdoor adventures.

Programs

  • Wild Science! Summer Camp — Rising 1st-5th grade campers (ages 5+); Littles program for pre-k & kinder campers (ages 4-5); Teen Machine Camp for 6th-9th grade campers (ages 11+) · Summer camp with outdoor exploration, science and nature, art and music, animal encounters, and site visits around the Bay Area.
  • Wild Science! After & In-School Enrichment Programs — Pre-K through High School · After school and in-class science enrichment programs with live reptiles and amphibians, hands-on experiments, and outdoor adventures.
  • McCoppin Elementary before & Afterschool Program — TK–5th grade; TK & Kindergarten Group; 1st–5th Grade Group; TK - 3rd Grade for before-care · Before school: Monday–Friday; After school: Monday–Friday · Before and after-school enrichment program for Fall 2026.

  • General schedule: Summer camp sessions are held in 5 different parks around San Francisco; campers may travel by chartered bus or Muni to sites of inquiry around the Bay Area. McCoppin before school meets Monday–Friday with drop-off between 8:00 AM and 8:45 AM. McCoppin afterschool runs Monday–Friday from 3:45–6:15 PM, and Wednesdays from 2:30–6:15 PM.

About the provider

Tree Frog Treks describes its team as expert naturalists. The program is in its 27th year of trekking, building forts, and friendships, and it is described as an award-winning program. Its mission is to make science fun and engaging and to foster curiosity about the world around us.

Campers spend the entire session exploring outdoors and the programs run outside everyday. Programs run rain or shine. Scholarships are available for families who qualify. A minimum number of students per day is required for McCoppin programming to run. Registration is first come, first served. For McCoppin, payment plans may be available during registration. There is no transportation provided for morning drop-off for McCoppin before school.
