Evergreen Montessori School

Evergreen Montessori School offers children chances to explore nature, learn through hands-on experience, and learn by collaboration and observation. Children use problem-solving skills, manage challenges, master new skills, and build self confidence in mixed-age classrooms and scientifically designed indoor environments that are described as safe, bright, and inquisitive spaces.

• Ages: 18 months–6 years old

Evergreen Montessori School has been nurturing children ages 18 months through Kindergarten in San Jose for over two decades and was established over fifteen years ago. The school’s mission is to create an environment for facilitating the unfolding of the human potential, with an educational environment that fosters an enthusiasm for learning and encourages children to reach their fullest potential, while emphasizing basic academic disciplines and promoting the development of independence, self-respect, and courtesy for others. The program offers early childhood education, Pre-K, and day care with customized learning at each child’s pace, in mixed-age classrooms with a teacher-to-student ratio of about 1:4 to 1:7, and at all times a CPR certified staff member is present. Teachers are trained and certified by the American Montessori Society, and Evergreen Montessori School is affiliated with the American Montessori Society with AMS accredited teachers and AMS affiliated schools. The leadership team includes Ms. Shveta Shourie, President of Evergreen Montessori School. Evergreen Montessori is dedicated to serving the San Jose parent and children community, and one Evergreen parent describes it as “a pre-school for parents dedicated to enhancing their child’s minds & exposure to life, and opening their hearts at their own pace.”
