GRT Tennis was founded by Justin Snodgrass and Jasmin Snodgrass, and the camp is run by Coach Justin and Coach Jasmin. Both are certified PTR coaches with over 25 combined years of tennis teaching experience, and all assistant coaches are hand picked and trained by them. The program is celebrating its 10th year of Summer Camp and welcomes children from beginner to advanced levels, separating players by age and skill level into up to six different groups. The stated philosophy is to challenge all players to their fullest potential both physically and mentally, with emphasis on technique, movement, strategy, and mental toughness, and a stated belief that mental toughness is the most important of the four. Camp materials suggest that within one week, students receive significantly more play-time and instruction than in a 6-week session of regular clinics, and that camp includes both on-court instruction and off-court lectures focusing on mental toughness, with match play included.
Families are advised that children should bring a hat, snack, tennis shoes, a tennis racquet (with new racquets available for purchase), at least two water bottles, sunscreen, an optional face mask for use during play, hand sanitizer, and lunch for full day campers. The program notes that it offers full day and half day camps, Friday pizza and water balloon fights, tennis birthday party events, and the option to book a free trial class.
