About

Harker Summer Programs are offered by The Harker School, a nonprofit K-12, coed, private school in Silicon Valley that is the largest independent school of its kind in California. The programs take place on Harker’s three divisions, where students use facilities with leading-edge technology that support dynamic, experiential learning inside the classroom and outdoors. Students are part of a school community that includes global learning opportunities, competitive sports teams, and a wide range of student clubs, as well as events for students, parents, alumni, donors and community members to connect and celebrate traditions and a common mission.

Founded in 1893, The Harker School celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2018. Its mission is to develop lifelong learners, well-rounded global citizens and kind, respectful individuals. The school has earned international recognition for its academics, teachers and student achievements. Harker states that it is an equal opportunity employer with a policy prohibiting unlawful discrimination based on specified protected characteristics. Harker also states that it strives to be a good neighbor in each of its campus communities and invites neighbors to contact the school by email or through its Good Neighbors webpage. One alumnus, John Owen ’85, now a judge on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, states that Harker was his most significant professional and personal influence and that it provided him with study skills, ethics and values.
