Tiny Tots introduces the game of tennis in a fun, low-pressure environment and teaches fundamentals of technique and hand-eye coordination through instruction and games. Junior Foundations covers ground-stroke, volley, and serve techniques, basic movement and court positioning, uses consistent positive reinforcement, and generally uses Orange Balls with basic fitness exercises. Junior Development is for players with established technique, typically ages 10–13, uses primarily Green Balls, and introduces more advanced strokes, movement patterns, scoring, basic strategies, and advanced footwork and conditioning drills. Junior Competition is for players typically ages 12–17 who are looking to compete on high school teams or junior team tennis, uses regular yellow tennis balls, and focuses on competitive play with basket-fed and live-ball drills. Tournament Foundations is a long-term clinic for younger players ages 6–8 aiming for tournament tennis and eventual transfer into Tournament Training, and Tournament Training is a long-term clinic for players 10 and under looking to enter tournament play and prepare for future college play. Ultimate Tennis Summer Camp introduces new players to tennis and pickleball and gives current players time to develop their skills, along with Ninja Zone visits, pool time, and Friday Pizza Parties.

Tournament Training is taught by Tennis Director Josh Martin, who leads the tennis program. Since 1976, Almaden Valley Athletic Club has been described as a favorite destination for San Jose families and as a family-owned favorite place for swim, tennis, fitness, and community. The club has received a Top Workplaces 2025 credential. The stated goal of AVAC Junior Tennis is to provide a positive experience in order to help kids develop a love for the sport and establish a foundation to grow from in the future. Parents are asked to ensure their child brings water, a tennis racquet, and appropriate tennis shoes.
