Learning Plus Tutoring offers one-on-one tutoring in reading, math, writing, science, and test preparation, including high school placement testing. The program also offers an academic summer camp, a Writing Excellence Workshop, a Back-to-School Workshop, a Back-to-School Bootcamp, and enrichment programs. Students can work on beginning phonics reading, reading comprehension, grammar, and study skills through multi-sensory tutoring programs that are tailored to each child's individual needs.

Learning Plus Tutoring was begun in 1982 by Sue Walker. The Owner/Director and Executive Director, Rachel Renna, is a passionate educator and highly-trained professional with more than 20 years of experience in the field, and the tutors are highly trained educators and communicators who are described as caring and patient. The program states that tutors recognize the importance of developing a child’s skills, self-esteem, confidence and building positive attitudes about learning and life, and that they use a study technology that is used all over the world in schools and businesses. Learning Plus Tutoring offers professional one-on-one tutoring during the summer months in addition to its academic summer camp and specialized workshops such as the Writing Excellence Workshop and Back-to-School Bootcamp. Learning Plus Tutoring has successfully tutored thousands of children in the Bay Area and has been awarded Bay Area Parent Magazine’s Family Favorite and/or Editor's Choice award every year since 2012, with a total of 7 awards since 2007 for its tutoring programs. The program’s mission statement is that education must prepare a child to be successful in life, and its stated motto is “if we're not having fun, they're not having fun.”
