South Bay Children’s Musical Theater

South Bay Children’s Musical Theater offers theater auditions, movie auditions, acting workshops, youth theater productions, original musicals, movies, singing showcases, and special events. The program features original musicals, movies, singing showcases, and special events that include kids in the cast and performances.

• Ages: 5–18 years old

Over the past thirty years, Director John Bisceglie and his team have worked with thousands of children in the San Francisco Bay Area, producing more than two hundred original musicals, movies, singing showcases, and special events featuring kids of all ages. The leadership team includes Director John and Office Manager Aaron. SBCMT states that it is dedicated to offering high quality performing arts experiences to Bay Area youth ages 5–18, and that its youth theater productions provide performing arts training that boosts children’s self-esteem, confidence, and teaches the value of teamwork. The program offers productions in multiple areas, including Bay Area productions, San Jose productions, San Francisco productions, Gilroy and Morgan Hill productions, and Sacramento theater productions. A newsletter is available for families who want to receive audition and show updates.

Parent feedback about the program includes comments such as being “amazed and in awe at how awesome the show turned out with only an hour and half practice each week and a 2-practice tech week,” and describing the experience as “SIMPLY AMAZING!!!” Another parent reports that their kids have participated in several South Bay Children’s Musical Theater productions and that it has been “a great experience” for their entire family.
