STEM Summer Camps at The Tech Interactive offer hands-on activities, experimental labs, and design challenge experiences. Campers collaborate to explore big ideas and make hands-on projects inspired by that week’s theme. The program includes a summer camp experience where students entering Grades 2–6 will Create, Adapt, Make, and Play, with Gizmos (Grades 2–3) and Gadgets (Grades 4–6) camp options.

Since opening in 1998, The Tech Interactive has welcomed more than 10 million visitors and now welcomes over 250,000 visitors a year. The organization’s mission is to inspire the innovator in everyone. The Tech Interactive is an expert in the practice of Design Challenge Learning, a combination of project-based learning and engineering design. The Tech Challenge, founded in 1988, is the signature program of The Tech and invites teams of students in Grades 4–12 to use the engineering design process to solve a real-world problem. The Tech Academies is a dedicated professional development program for teachers to bring STEM curricula into classrooms throughout the Bay Area, and The Tech for Global Good focuses on inspiring problem solvers to tackle challenges such as climate change, clean water, and access to health care. The Tech is dedicated to empowering marginalized communities to thrive and create meaningful change for everyone, with a stated commitment to promoting STEM inclusion for all and fostering a culture of inclusivity across diverse communities.
