Swim Lessons is part of a broader set of YMCA of Silicon Valley programs that include swim lessons, Swimming, open gym, fitness, Group Exercise, Group Fitness, Summer Day Camp, games, and activities that involve creativity, teamwork, and adventure. Related youth programs also include Before and After School Programs with daily homework help and tutoring, literacy enrichment, science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) activities, nutrition education with healthy snacks and meals, physical activity, service-learning, leadership development, global and cultural learning, college and career exploration, Quiet Time, Group Games, outdoor youth choice with playground time and equipment such as hula hoops, jump ropes, and balls, and Curriculum/Project Time.
• Ages: 0–17 years old
• Schedule: Sample daily schedule for an after school program includes 30 minutes for check-in and review of the day, 30 minutes of Youth Choice at activity stations, 30–45 minutes of Quiet Time, 30 minutes for Afternoon Snack, 30 minutes of Physical Activity including Group Games (outdoors when weather allows), 20–30 minutes of outdoor youth choice with playground time and equipment, and 30–45 minutes of Curriculum/Project Time.
