Its mission states a dream to inspire every child or adult to learn in a way that helps them love music for a lifetime, welcoming all ages, cultures, abilities, and disabilities, and working as a team to make it a place “Where Learning is FUN and every child is special!” The program is described as the most award-winning music school in Silicon Valley and as a community that cares about children and their experience as they learn.

Clients with special needs are served by Board Certified Music Therapists and/or Adaptive Music Teachers, and the music therapy approach is described as almost opposite the ABA approach. Arts Educators Group, a non-profit sister to The Music Place, runs the Sunnyvale Campus studios and supports service to families across multiple South Bay neighborhoods.
