New Ballet School’s programs are part of New Ballet, which was founded in 2016. The school provides ballet instruction for ages 2.5 into adulthood and offers over $90,000 in scholarships and financial aid annually. New Ballet’s programs are made possible in part by an operating grant from the City of San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs, and the organization states that it exists to elevate the art and discipline of ballet in Silicon Valley and to make premier ballet training accessible to the community.
New Ballet School features the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum and is one of only five schools nationwide designated as an American Ballet Theatre Certified School, and it is the only American Ballet Theatre Certified School on the West Coast. Training at the school focuses on developmentally appropriate instruction and dancer health for each student. The certified teaching staff has decades of experience bringing high quality artistic training to students ranging from 2.5 years to 22 years old, and the faculty has danced professionally.
