One parent from San Jose reported that “The Barton Reading & Spelling System” helped a 2nd grade son who had been struggling with reading and feeling “stupid,” and that after one school year and one summer of tutoring he was “a different kid.” Another parent shared that a child who started 5th grade reading at a second grade level was reading at grade level after one year of tutoring with the Barton system and was more confident. A third parent from Sunnyvale stated that an eighth grade daughter with learning disabilities and an I.E.P., and for whom English is not the first language at home, advanced to grade level in reading after eight months of tutoring and that the daughter became “a happier nicer sister.”
