About the provider

Growing Minds says it has offered affordable early child education to North County families for over 50 years and has been rooted in the community since 1972. It is a nonprofit organization that offers quality early education to income-eligible families in North County, relies on donations to offer free or low-cost preschool, and assigns each family a family advocate. Its leadership team includes Susan Niemi, MA, Executive Director; Estrellita (Lita) Moore, Program Director; Loritta M. Zajda, CPA, Finance Director; and Rita Zeigler, Operations/Human Resources Director. The program says its mission is to enhance the lives of families in the community by educating and preparing children for kindergarten and beyond.

Age-appropriate, nurturing and secure environments. Family advocates are assigned to families. Financial assistance is offered to support teachers’ continued education and professional development.
