Montessori School of San Marcos

Montessori School of San Marcos offers an infant program with developmentally appropriate materials and activities in a nurturing, stimulating, and soothing environment. It also offers beginner preschool and toddlers programs with social interaction, sensory skill development, art, outside play, circle time, and activities that build motor skills and independence. The preschool program uses a mixed-age classroom with Montessori materials and activities, and the school also offers weekly cooking, weekly art, and weekly Spanish.

Programs

• Infant program — 8 weeks - 24 months · Nurturing, stimulating, and soothing environment with developmentally appropriate materials and activities.
• Beginner preschool — 24-36 months · Combines social interaction with sensory skill development and provides activities in social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative growth.
• Preschool — 3-6 years old · Mixed-age classroom with Montessori materials and activities supporting social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and academic growth.
• Toddlers — 18-36 months · Beginning preschool classroom with age-appropriate Montessori material, art, outside play, circle time, and activities that build motor skills and independence.
• Weekly Cooking — Weekly · Teaches children to cook, read and follow methods, understand portions and measurements, and build independence.
• Weekly Art — Weekly · Art activities to strengthen fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, stimulate imagination, and build self-confidence.
• Weekly Spanish — Weekly · Spanish classes that help improve memory, concentration, problem solving skills, and cultural understanding.

About the provider

Montessori School of San Marcos has more than 20 years of experience in the Montessori Method. Its mission is to provide students with high quality education and care, build a strong foundation, promote a child’s growth toward autonomy, and partner with parents to develop responsible, respectful life-long learners.

Applications are accepted at any time. The preschool admits children between 8 weeks and 6 years of age. Before enrollment, they would prefer to meet with both parents and the child. They do not discriminate against children with emotional or physical handicaps. Each child is considered on an individual basis based on the child’s ability to benefit from the program and adapt and integrate into the culture of the school. Enrollment start date is agreed upon.
