Orion Martial Arts offers training in Karate and traditional Tang Soo Do, including forms, self-defense, sparring, and weapons. Students can also take part in competitions, martial arts demonstrations, and demos through the program’s structured classes and teams.
• Ages: 2–18 years old
• Schedule: Kids 2–11 classes Monday–Friday at 4pm, plus additional all-ages Karate, sparring, and competition team options on set days and times
Orion Martial Arts has provided Karate for kids, teens, and adults and has served North County San Diego families since 1982. The program is led by Grandmaster Laura Gomez, the first female Grandmaster of Tang Soo Do in the world. Orion Martial Arts offers programs for kids, teens, and adults, including The Hunters Competition Team for tournament training and a Demo Team that performs at community events, festivals, tournaments, and special performances throughout the San Diego area. The program offers martial arts for all abilities and all neuro-diversities and provides a free trial class, with no contracts, no hidden fees, and no sign-up fees. For a trial class, students are asked to wear comfortable athletic clothing, and after enrollment, staff help select an appropriate Tang Soo Do uniform (dobok) and any required training equipment.
The mission of Orion Martial Arts is stated as: “WE PLEDGE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE HAPPINESS OF THE HUMAN RACE WITH THE PEN AND THE SWORD; ATTEMPTING TO UNITE IN PERFECT HARMONY AND FURTHER THE TRADITIONS OF TANG SOO DO.”
