Seasonal Camps includes full-day enrichment camps where campers take part in offsite field trips, art projects, organized games, swimming, and play. Campers may also register for additional onsite enrichment classes available at the Rec during camp hours. The Highlands Rec Seasonal Camp Emergency Packet must be completed for each camper before the first day of camp.

In 1957, the Highlands Recreation District was established with a 5-member elected Board of Directors, and in 1958 residents voted to purchase 3.45 acres of land and construct the facility and swimming pool. The Highlands Recreation District provides licensed childcare for children ages 3 months to 8th grade, camps, enrichment classes, and a swim program for all ages and abilities. The Highlands Recreation District is dedicated to providing beneficial and enriching programs and services to its patrons and a place to create and promote health, well-being and community. Some activities are available to non-residents of the District. In 2018, the District was awarded the Special District Leadership Foundation’s District Transparency Certificate of Excellence for its website content. The Highlands Recreation District operates under the Community Services District law pursuant to government code 61000 et seq for the purpose of providing recreational services within the District. The HRD Baby Pool is closed until further notice. Filled out emergency packets can be emailed to Mike Koenig at [email protected].
