About

Triple Threat Academy is a week long camp where kids practice basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and footwork. The program focuses on proper shooting technique, learning to dribble with a weak hand, driving to the basket and finishing, shooting on the move, handling the ball, and scoring creatively. Sessions include specific formats like Total Skills, Super Handles, Dribbling and Shooting, Offensive Moves, Pro Moves Competition, and the Kris Kringle Offensive Skills Clinic.

• Ages: 4–15 years old
• Schedule: week long camp

Triple Threat Academy describes itself as the most fun and affordable way for a child to learn basketball, with students practicing skills in a secure environment. The program states that it focuses on building confidence, learning teamwork, improving skills, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, respecting authority, and offering an opportunity to make lifelong friends. The staff includes some of the most experienced teachers in the Bay Area, many of whom are former Triple Threat Academy students, and programs are offered through classes, camps, or leagues for all ages and skill levels.

Triple Threat Academy notes that it is the most proven and most affordable way for a child to improve their basketball skills, with programs conveniently located throughout the East Bay and Bay Area so parents can drop off kids and run errands. Camps and group classes in Alameda are geared for younger players ages 4–11, and the program also partners with Sofive/Bladium Sports Club in a 110,000 square foot facility that includes two SportCourt basketball floors and is described as a young child's dream playground. This is the program’s signature winter camp in Oakland, which began in 2003, and it also uses a 6,500 square foot full-size gym in Oakland with 6 hoops and wood flooring, set back in the Oakland Hills above Highway 13 with private parking.

Testimonials from a player, a parent, and a coach describe coaches who are nice and teach basketball skills, a fun and non-competitive environment with drills, games, and scrimmages, and a focus on teaching kids how to listen, be respectful, and have fun while learning how to play basketball.
