About
Triple Threat Academy offers basketball through group classes, camps, and leagues. Specific camps include Total Skills camp, Super Handles camp, Dribbling and Shooting camp, Offensive Moves camp, Pro Moves Competition Camp, and the Kris Kringle Offensive Skills Clinic. At the Pro Moves Competition Camp, children learn moves used by professional players and then compete and play games using those moves.
• Ages: 4–15 years old
• Schedule: Pro Moves Competition Camp is a week long camp
Triple Threat Academy states that students develop confidence and practice their skills in a secure environment through classes, camps, or leagues. Triple Threat Academy has some of the most experienced teachers in the Bay Area, many of whom are former TTA students. The program hand-picks coaches to provide instruction from coaches who remember what it was like to be a young kid, and coaches are described as great coaches and great leaders who are down-to-earth and impact the direction and quality of kids’ lives. The program focuses on building confidence, teamwork, respect for authority, and making lifelong friends.
Triple Threat Academy operates facilities throughout the East Bay, including San Ramon, Oakland, Alameda, and Piedmont, and in Alameda it operates in partnership with the Sofive/Bladium Sports Club. Camps and group classes at the Alameda facility are geared for younger players ages 4–11. The Kris Kringle Offensive Skills Clinic is a signature winter camp in Oakland that began in 2003.
One player describes liking Triple Threat Academy because the coaches are nice, teach a lot about basketball, make it fun to play, and push and challenge players to do their best. One parent of three boys reports that their children enjoy the fun, non-competitive environment, the chance to play with friends, and coaches who get to know each student, gauge their ability, and develop their skills through drills, games, and scrimmages, including 1-on-1 attention despite large group sizes. A coach describes Triple Threat Academy as focusing not only on basketball skills but also on teaching kids how to listen, be respectful, and have fun while learning the game.
