Nuh’s Ark

Nuh’s Ark is a play-based preschool program for Muslim children and their families. The program name was chosen in honor of Prophet Nuh (peace be upon him). Children at Nuh’s Ark learn together, eat together, clean together, and explore together as a group.

Nuh’s Ark aims to be a safe haven for Islamic values, etiquettes, and lessons, with the stated hope of nurturing the fitra (primordial nature) of children to contemplate and know their Lord through His signs. The program is for families who limit their children’s exposure to media, who prioritize the protection and nurturing of their children’s hearts, and who value adab, kindness, and good character in raising their children. It is also for families who desire a deep spiritual connection with Allah for their children and who embrace chances for their child to get dirty.

Nuh’s Ark was founded by Kiran Adnan, an experienced preschool teacher and parent. She taught at ILM Tree preschool in Lafayette, CA, for the past four years and in other home-based preschool programs before that. Kiran Adnan received her Early Childhood Education from Diablo Valley College, which included working in the DVC Early Childhood lab.
