The Dorris-Eaton School was founded in 1954 in Danville, California, by Doris Dorris and Virginia Eaton, and for over seventy years it has provided education to students of Contra Costa and Alameda counties. After nearly four decades in Walnut Creek, in 2015 Dorris-Eaton relocated and completely renovated its current K–8 facility in San Ramon. Mrs. Dorris' and Mrs. Eaton's founding tenet, excellence in education, remains the guiding principle of The Dorris-Eaton School. The Dorris-Eaton Preschool in Alamo and the K–8 campus in San Ramon are regionally and nationally recognized for excellence in education, and the San Ramon K–8 campus is continuously recognized as a top K–8 school in the Bay Area and beyond, offering an award-winning K–8 education. The Summer Enrichment Workshops & Adventure Day Camp is led by Director Jerry Ludden.

A third grade parent shared, “Being new to Dorris-Eaton, my son needed to hone his writing and grammar skills. We paired their summer language arts workshops with the Adventure Day Camp, both of which he loved. We immediately saw that he had caught up when school started in August. A great experience all around.”
