Bay Area Tutoring Centers Tutoring Programs offer individualized tutoring in math, science, English, language arts, history, and SAT/ACT. Sessions are customized based on each student’s personal and academic needs, and tutors teach each concept as a stepping-stone to the next while asking students to reflect on their answers to discover new approaches. Programs are available in person, online, and in hybrid formats, with low student-to-tutor ratios in a comfortable, confidence-building environment.

• Schedule: Programs are available throughout the school year as well as over the summer.
In 36+ years of serving the Berkeley and San Ramon communities, Bay Area Tutoring Centers, Inc. has established close relationships with local schools and families, and it caters to a wide range of students from both public schools and private institutions. The mission of Bay Area Tutoring Centers Tutoring Programs is enhancing the academic performance of students by improving their skills, self-confidence, and understanding of their subjects. The Berkeley center opened in 1988, and the second center in San Ramon opened in 1996. Tutors are carefully selected based on their subject expertise and their ability to effectively communicate their knowledge to others, and they are thoroughly screened, assessed, and trained before working with students. Many students use ongoing weekly sessions, while others schedule on an as-needed basis, and there are no contracts, no session minimums, and no registration fees. Programs are designed to complement the curricula of local schools by mirroring and supplementing classwork with a mix of current concepts, review, and new material. Online tutoring makes the programs available to students outside of the Bay Area as well.
