Think Together’s mission is to partner with schools to change the odds for kids. The organization partners with district and charter partners to extend the school day and provide students with nationally recognized expanded learning opportunities that prepare students for college and career. Think Together operates expanded learning programs in over 500 schools with a daily attendance capacity exceeding 92,000 pupils, and its programs have impacted over 2 million students in California. Its workforce includes more than 5,000 staff distributed across various counties. What started in 1994 in one small community on Shalimar Drive in Costa Mesa became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1997 and has grown into a statewide organization that supports over 180,000 students annually from the Bay Area to San Diego. Think Together also operates early learning programs, school improvement services through Orenda Education, and staffing solutions through the California Schools Talent Collaborative. The name “Think Together” was created as an acronym that stands for Teaching, Helping, Inspiring and Nurturing Kids Together.
“I’m super happy with Think Together, and as long as I am superintendent, we will continue to offer these programs to the community,” said Dr. Frank Miranda, Superintendent, Colton Joint Unified School District. “Our Think Together kids are learning, they are growing, and they are achieving,” said Beverly Swanson, Director, Expanded Learning Programs (ret), Bellflower Unified School District. “I hear many parents tell me they really love Think Together…and that makes me very proud, knowing that I made that decision, I am part of it,” said Yolanda Rodriguez-Peña, Vice President, Board of Education, Azusa Unified School District.
