About

Enrichment and Tutoring Programs are part of Think Together’s expanded learning programs, which include deeper instruction after school in specific areas of interest from expert partners in STEM, arts, and sports. The programs also connect students with an expansive digital platform called The Achievery.

• Ages: 5–18 years old

Think Together’s mission for these programs is to partner with schools to change the odds for kids. The organization began in 1994 in one small community on Shalimar Drive in Costa Mesa and became a nonprofit in 1997. It has grown into a statewide organization that supports over 180,000 students annually from the Bay Area to San Diego, with programs that have impacted over 2 million students in California. Think Together operates expanded learning programs in over 500 schools with a daily attendance capacity exceeding 72,000 pupils, and 92,000+ TK–12 students attended these expanded learning programs. The organization reports that 30,000 students benefited from The Achievery, and 4,500 students received deeper instruction after school from expert partners in STEM, arts, and sports. Its workforce includes more than 5,000 staff distributed across various counties, and it also operates early learning programs, school improvement through Orenda Education, and staffing solutions through the California Schools Talent Collaborative.

The programs partner with district and charter partners to extend the school day and provide students with nationally recognized expanded learning opportunities that prepare students for college and career. According to Dr. Frank Miranda, Superintendent of Colton Joint Unified School District, the district will continue to offer these programs to the community as long as he is superintendent. Beverly Swanson, former Director of Expanded Learning Programs at Bellflower Unified School District, states that students in these programs are learning, growing, and achieving. Yolanda Rodriguez-Peña, Vice President of the Board of Education for Azusa Unified School District, reports hearing many parents say they really love Think Together and expresses pride in having made the decision to be part of it.
