Heritage Museum of Orange County Educational Programs include museum tours, hands-on educational programs, and elaborate living history exhibits. The program also offers environmental stewardship opportunities, workshops, interviews, a podcast, blacksmith shop classes, school field trip demonstrations, self-led trail walks, and chances for students to learn about horticulture and sustainable farming.

Heritage Museum of Orange County was officially founded in 1981 and opened for visitors in 1985. Its mission is to preserve, promote, and restore the heritage of Orange County and the surrounding region through quality hands-on educational programs for students and visitors of all ages. The museum has been a field trip destination familiar to teachers and students throughout Orange County for over 30 years and offers community events for visitors of all ages, along with a curated online HMOC Knowledge Hub that includes blog posts, infographics, digital exhibitions, themed knowledge pieces, workshops, interviews, videos, and a podcast. The O.C. Blacksmith Guild operates from the museum’s fully functional Blacksmith shop, holds classes, and participates in school field trip and event demonstrations.

The leadership team includes Executive Director Candace Chromy, Collections & Exhibitions Manager Stefany Navarro, Facilities Manager Samuel Guitron, Gospel Swamp Farm Manager Eddie Yantuche, Marketing Director Shandra Wilson (Octopod Online), Membership Coordinator Isabella Piasecki, Museum Accountant Daniel Clay, Outreach Coordinator Mariana Escalona Diaz, Paranormal Coordinator Darcy Staniforth, Programs Coordinator Pauline Halloran, Wedding & Event Coordinator Kaitlyn Lizzarago, and museum staff including Lead Program Instructors Anakin Palmquist and Micah Coble, along with Brian Haskins, Erika Hernandez, Ethan Porcadilla Felicidario, George Beltran, Marianne Alcala, and Nikita Sargazy. The Board of Directors includes Board President Fernando Cueva, Vice President AnnaSophia Servin, Secretary Josh Goddard, Treasurer Dan Biedscheid, Assistant Treasurer Mark Paredes, and Members at Large Gloria Alvarado, Jennifer S. Wang, and Claudette John.
