KidWorks has been operating for 30 years and began in a one-bedroom apartment. Since its beginnings, KidWorks has used a Hub & Spoke Model that is described as allowing the organization to be deeply rooted in neighborhood life and culture, build trusted relationships, provide a safe haven for kids, and serve as a gathering space for community partners to collaborate on neighborhood change. KidWorks makes an 18-year commitment to each student, from Pre-K through a B.A., and states that it is bringing hope into Orange County’s most under-resourced neighborhoods.

The mission of KidWorks After School Programs is described as inspiring youth, fueling their growth, and catalyzing their impact in the community and in the world, and also as inspiring purpose in youth, fueling their growth, and catalyzing their impact in the community.
