KidWorks has been operating for 30 years and began in a one-bedroom apartment. The organization makes an 18-year commitment to each student, from Pre-K through B.A., and program enrollment is open for students in grades K–12. The mission of KidWorks is stated as “Inspiring youth, fueling their growth, and catalyzing their impact in the community and in the world.”

Program Success Strategies at KidWorks include personal development and spiritual growth, college and career readiness, leadership training, and academics, and the after-school programs focus on whole-person development. Over the last decade, 100% of KidWorks students graduated high school on time and have pursued higher education. Additional reported outcomes include 98% of KidWorks high school students believing they are equipped to solve challenges they face, 91% of preschool students being assessed as Kinder-ready, and 72% of KidWorks college students being on track to graduate, compared to the national average of 27% of first-generation college students. KidWorks reports that 97% of youth served in a leadership role in the classroom or the community, over 40% of 2024 high school seniors started with KidWorks in preschool, and 75% of youth view themselves as leaders and serve in meaningful leadership roles.

KidWorks walks alongside tomorrow’s leaders, equipping them with academic, personal development, and leadership tools needed to graduate from college and pursue meaningful careers. KidWorks also serves as a gathering space for community partners to collaborate on neighborhood change, and partners support KidWorks in a variety of ways, including one-time volunteer engagements for corporate groups, companies, and nonprofit partners. Site supervisors include Jacquelynn Hernandez at the Dan Donahue Center (DDC), Briseida Cruz at Cedar Evergreen (KCE), Haide Gutierrez at Townsend Center (KCT), and Eva Ochoa at Bishop Manor Center (KBM).
