About
Art Explorers offers drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, mixed media, and print-making projects, along with events and parties. The program also runs after-school programs, Summer Camps, and a Gift Making Camp in December, with all projects described as part of a FUN, fine arts-enrichment program designed to build visual art skills. Projects do not repeat, and each session features new and different work that has been kid-tested for fun and success.

Art Explorers is an art-enrichment program that focuses on visual arts skills and building each child’s self confidence through engaging curriculum. The program teaches art skills, the language of art, and how to see and observe the world, while introducing many forms of art in an exploring, nurturing, and encouraging environment. Some projects are completely open-ended so that students illustrate their own ideas, and every piece of work remains the original art of that child, as instructors do not touch student work. Classes are limited to 18 students, and the curriculum includes art history and the artwork of local artists, using artist-quality media such as Prisma Illustration Markers, charcoal, oil and soft pastels, polymer clay, ArtStix, colored pencil, Scratch-Art, AquaStik, paint, and watercolor on a variety of surfaces including archival or exotic paper, canvas, metal foil, tile, wood, and recycled objects. Art Explorers provides all artist-quality supplies, with optional t-shirts or aprons available for purchase, and Summer Camps follow themes that include both new and previously popular topics each year.
Art Explorers is locally owned and has over 25 years of bringing art to students of all ages. The staff has over 25 years of art education experience, advanced degrees, teaching experience, curriculum development, and experience running after-school programs and camps and working with ages from 3-year-olds to adults. Teachers include teaching artists and current or future teachers, all of whom complete comprehensive training in the Art Explorers teaching process and are fingerprinted and cleared through the California Department of Justice. Art Explorers serves the areas of Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, and Carpinteria, and currently serves the Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito Union, Cold Spring, and Carpinteria School Districts with classes, parties, and events for artists of all ages.
