Wilson Swimming

Wilson Swimming offers private swimming lessons that use games and toys to teach and practice each skill. The program uses a system of teaching developed with three grown children who are aquatic specialists and educators, and it builds from basic breath control, including for babies, through endurance and stroke technique in a comprehensive program that can continue through childhood.

• Ages: 0–12 years old
• Schedule: Lessons available Monday–Friday with many times offered; all lessons are 30 minutes

Wilson Swimming is a family-run swimming lesson program that has been teaching children to love the water for over 30 years. The program emphasizes building confidence, overcoming fears, learning to love the water, and eventually stroke technique, and states that swimming lessons should be fun, safe, and flexible. Instructors and counselors are accomplished swimmers, experienced teachers, and are chosen because they love kids, and the program has experience working with children who have special needs. Swim teachers invent new games to let swimmers be creative and keep lessons interesting, and the program states that living in Santa Barbara with water everywhere makes learning to swim mandatory.
