About
Artstudio 4 Kids offers art classes for children that include summer art camps, week-long art camps, and weeklong winter art camps. The program also offers after-school and morning sessions, private event paint parties, private group sessions where families can make their own group, private art parties for kids or adults, and family art workshops. Children can work with tempera paint, acrylic paint, watercolors, oil pastels, chalk, collage, mixed media, paper mache, and air dry clay in small groups of up to 12 students per class.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Fall, Winter, and Spring after-school and morning sessions for grades K–2 and 3–7; Summer 2026 includes 6 week-long art camps
Artstudio 4 Kids is owned and run by Geraldine Otte, who has been running her own afterschool and weeklong camp for kids under this name since 2016. Before starting Artstudio 4 Kids, Geraldine Otte worked as a fabric and print stylist in the fashion industry for 13 years, directing studios in major companies in New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico City, and she is a former art teacher at Vieja Valley Elementary School. She states that she believes art is essential in the development of children and that she strives to provide small group instruction in her studio space, with a curriculum that focuses on media exploration, learning techniques, and engaging subject matter.
ArtStudio4Kids has two studio spaces, an outdoor studio and an indoor studio, and for weekly art camps the adjacent garden space is used for snack and lunch breaks. Located in the Hope Ranch annex or Noleta, it is accessible to families from the Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Montecito areas.
One parent and professional artist, Michele Voigt, reports that her two daughters have attended multiple holiday break and summer art camps with Mrs. Otte, describes the days as filled with activities and fun, and says that every project is a treasure and that her kids are eager to return each day. She states that she highly recommends the camps and enrichment programs, notes that Mrs. Otte never compromises quality or care, and says she finds the instruction to be at a standard higher than a primary education level but taught in a way that young minds excel.
