Goleta Valley South Little League started in 1968. The league has five main divisions by age: T-Ball/Coach Pitch for 4–6 years old, Mini-minors for 7–8 years old with machine pitching, Minors for 9–10 years old with player pitch, Majors for 11–12 years old with player pitch, and Juniors for 13–14 years old with player pitch, plus an Intermediates division for 13-year-olds with player pitch. The league states that it believes in the power of youth baseball to teach life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities. It is a 100% volunteer organization and depends on volunteers to run the program, using signup.com to organize volunteer shifts. The league is described as the largest and most successful Little League in its District on the Central Coast. Families are asked to purchase or sell raffle tickets, and many teams have a team party with costs shared by the families. If a parent manages a team, a $200 equipment fee deposit is charged and refunded when all equipment is returned at the end of the season. YouTube Live 4K streams are available for the Major Field, Minor Field, and Junior Field, with audio disabled on all video streams.
