Lights Up Theatre Company

Lights Up! Theatre Company offers professional training and performance experience that includes acting, singing, and dance. Participants take part in activities such as professional acting training, professional singing training, professional dance training, vocal training, improv, dance, acting, and stage combat. The program also includes a Show Tunes & Stage Moves class that combines show tunes and stage movement.

Lights Up! Theatre Company was founded in 2018 and is led by Artistic Director Amy Love. The mission of Lights Up! is to provide professional training and performance experience in a nurturing environment, offering a secure and accepting theatrical home for developing performers while challenging them with professional acting, singing, and dance training. It is described as Santa Barbara's teen theatre company and presents two professionally-produced musicals and a straight play each season, with a year-round experience that includes a conservatory program with once or twice a week classes and a small showcase at their culmination. The Season 8 lineup includes The Wizard of Oz All-Company Musical, The Addams Family Advanced Company Musical, and a Shakespeare Acting Intensive Workshop. The company describes its community of actors as accepting, compassionate, and connected, and notes that its staff sets high expectations for character, kindness, and inclusion while teaching and modeling professional theatre etiquette.
