About
Nature Rangers includes nature games, science quests, art and exploration, and a variety of themed outdoor challenges. Children take part in Nature and Problem-Solving Quests such as Nature Bridge Rescue, Animal Adaptation Challenge, Trail Detectives, The Great Nest Quest, and Water Path Challenge. Activities also include Scientific Exploration, Seed Travelers, Sunprint Science, Rock Sorters, Mini Meteorologists, and Bug Architects, all set up as hands-on experiences.
• Schedule: Year Round Wilderness Exploration Programs
At Nature Rangers, the stated mission is that mental and emotional well-being begins with a strong foundation, built before challenges arise. The program focuses on year round wilderness exploration programs described as “Restoring Childhood Through Nature” and “Equipping kids with practical tools for resilience and self-regulation through fun, immersive nature experiences.” Activities include role-playing ecosystems and group challenges, outdoor quests that reawaken a child’s natural wonder, and use of natural materials and teamwork to solve challenges. Children engage in imaginative role play as wild animals to explore adaptation and take part in activities that build critical thinking and pattern recognition through investigating clues in nature. Hands-on projects include building nests to test strength and protection, creating mini waterways and dams to explore water flow, movement, and slope, and using the forest as an outdoor lab to observe wind, clouds, humidity, and temperature. Scientific Exploration activities involve observing, experimenting, and investigating cause and effect in an outdoor classroom, testing how different seeds move and designing a “super seed,” using sunprint paper to visualize sunlight, shadow, and UV rays, classifying rocks by observable properties such as color, texture, and weight, and searching for and sketching insect homes before building miniature “bug buildings.”
