About
Peak2Pacific Outdoor Adventures & Environmental Education Programs offers outdoor adventures and environmental education programs that include camp programs, after-school programs, spring break programs, and summer camp programs. Activities include team building, ropes course experiences, leadership training, and safety specialist services, along with rock climbing, sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, surfing, snorkeling, swimming, SCUBA, and other sports instruction and coaching. The program also offers Camps, Adventure, Aquatics & SCUBA Programs and Sweptaway Charter Programs in marine, creek, coastal, island, terrestrial, and wilderness environments.
Karen is the owner and creator of Peak2Pacific, and Austin is Peak2Pacific’s co-owner. Karen is described as a highly credentialed, experienced and certified Outdoor Environmental Education Director, Science Educator, Leader, Marine Biologist, Ecologist, Outdoor Wilderness EMT and First Responder, American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, AED professional rescuer and Lifeguard, Life and Health Coach, Adventure Guide, and Rock Climbing, Sailing, Kayaking, Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, Surfing, Snorkeling, Swimming, SCUBA and Sports Instructor/Coach, as well as a distinguished Team Building, Ropes Course and Leadership Training and Safety Specialist. Austin is described as a certified and highly trained Harbor Patrol Officer in Channel Islands Harbor, EMT, Professional CPR Rescuer and Lifeguard, Licensed Captain with OUPV with Sailing and Towing endorsements, ASA Sailing Instructor, licensed Commercial Driver with Passenger Endorsement for operating high occupancy passenger vans, certified Scientific Research Diver, and volunteer Reef Check SCUBA Diver.
Karen graduated with Honors with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, holds a teaching credential, and has been recognized and published for work on the effects of toxic phytoplankton on marine mammals, fish, and birds along the California coastline. Austin graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Evolution with a Minor in Athletic Coaching. Karen and Austin have won multiple awards in national and international sailing races. Karen is proud and honored to protect and serve the Santa Barbara community.
