Saint Clare School, which runs CKZ (Cool Kids Zone) Summer Camp, has been educating generations of students since 1856. Its mission states that it provides a rigorous curriculum and student-centered instruction in a safe and caring environment, working together with parents as primary educators to form learners with strong academic and spiritual foundations to become moral and ethical servant leaders. Saint Clare School is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association and is part of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The program is described as inclusive and celebrating diversity, and campers are grouped by age while leaders foster personal growth, teamwork, and essential life skills through engaging academic and physical activities. Saint Clare School partners with Santa Clara University, Mitty High School, Cristo Rey High School, and Cassy Youth Counseling Services, and students from Santa Clara University, Cristo Rey High School, Archbishop Mitty High School, Bellarmine College Preparatory, and other organizations often visit the campus to help with service or tutoring. Every student at Saint Clare School is given an Apple iPad for some degree of their coursework, younger students are partnered with older students for the year as their “buddy,” and Catholic religion classes are part of the curriculum.

Parents describe Saint Clare School as providing strong academics with a progressive approach to integrating new teaching and learning methods, and as offering excellent academic preparation in a Catholic environment. They note that the school has strong academic statistics and is one of the most diverse schools they know, with cultural, social, economic, and religious diversity, and they mention small classes where teachers and staff are able to give personal attention to each child. Parents also report that their children thrived academically and socially at Saint Clare and later in high school and college, that the school partners with Santa Clara University for activities such as visiting the Santa Clara Mission and having sporting events at Leavey Center, and that the community fosters educational growth and a supportive network of caring teachers.
