Montessori of Santa Clarita After School Program

Montessori of Santa Clarita After School Program includes time for puzzles, board games, art, outside play, and homework help. Children in the program receive an afternoon snack, sit at the table for lunch and snack, and are expected to use their listening ears for instruction and help clean up after themselves. The program uses classic Montessori activities where children are free to choose their own activities, explore, play, and learn at their own pace, and work on mastering their first letters, numbers, shapes, and colors while practicing problem-solving skills in the classroom and outside, including in a community garden.

The program follows a mission to provide Montessori activities that engage and strengthen all of the senses by exploring the world around the children and to enhance learning and social skills in an environment that fosters empathy, kindness, independence, and inclusion. The community garden teaches students about the life cycle, weather, food, and caring for the environment.
