705 Front St., Santa Cruz, CA 95060
About
MAH Summer Camps – Dance as Moving Art: Intro to Dancemaking & Storytelling focuses on choreographing original dance pieces. Campers spend time learning movement, storytelling, and collaboration as part of the daily activities.
• Schedule: All camps run 9 am–1 pm, with optional care until 3 pm, and are each one week long.
Dance as Moving Art: Intro to Dancemaking & Storytelling is led by Motion Pacific Dance instructors Gabi Piazza and Kali Lucas. The camp is part of the MAH’s mission to build community, connection, and belonging through sharing the art and history of Santa Cruz County. Snacks and materials are included, and space is limited. One testimonial about the MAH describes it as “a hotbed of community building and creativity” and notes that working with the MAH brings “exciting ideas and projects not only to life, but also to the broader Santa Cruz County community.” The MAH also participates in the London Nelson Legacy Initiative, a collaboration with a Black-led citizen group to research and share the stories of Black pioneers in pre-1900s Santa Cruz County.
