Dance Wilder

Dance Wilder offers classes including Caretaker & Me Toddler Dance, Creative Dance for Preschoolers, Creative Dance for 5–8 Years, Modern Expressive Dance for 9–13 Years, Modern Expressive Dance for 12 Years and Up, and Creative Movement for Crawlers. Classes include options where caretakers participate with toddlers, creative dance classes for children, and modern expressive dance classes for older kids and teens. First-time participants can test a class for free, and barter is accepted.

• Ages: Crawling–18 years old
• Schedule: Six-week sessions with classes on Tuesdays for younger children; Creative Movement for Crawlers (crawling to 18 months) from 9:15–10:00am, Caretaker & Me Toddler Dance (18 to 30 months) from 10:15–11:00am, and Creative Dance for Preschoolers from 11:00–11:45am; Creative Movement for Crawlers is held on an as-needed basis; mini-recitals follow every two sessions, with session breaks every 7 weeks
• Price: Caretaker & Me Toddler Dance and Creative Dance for Preschoolers are $10 per class with a 6-class pass ($60 total) or $12 per single class; Creative Movement for Crawlers is $7 per class with a 6-week session or $8 per drop-in

In the Dance Wilder classroom, children learn basic dance skills in a gender neutral, free spirited and safe environment, with a focus on exploration of movement, improving rhythm and coordination, and allowing self expression through the art of dance while having fun. These go-at-your-own-pace classes encourage each child to move within his or her own comfort range while a caretaker may dance alongside, participate partially, or watch. Dancing Wilder begins when little ones start exploring the world on their own, and the program states that little crawlers are delighted with music and movement, which Dance Wilder aims to nurture and grow into a passion.

Dance Wilder has joined forces with The Tannery World Dance and Cultural Center. Mini-recitals are usually held on the weekend following the second session end, and family and friends are invited to watch the performance. All registration for certain classes must be done through The Tannery website.
