Dance Wilder

Dance Wilder offers classes including Caretaker & Me Toddler Dance, Creative Dance for Preschoolers, Creative Dance for 5–8 Years, Modern Expressive Dance for 9–13 Years, Modern Expressive Dance for 12 Years and Up, and Creative Movement for Crawlers. Classes include options where caretakers dance with toddlers, creative dance classes for children, and movement classes for crawlers.

• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes run in six-week sessions with session breaks every 7 weeks; Creative Movement for Crawlers, Caretaker & Me Toddler Dance, and Creative Dance for Preschoolers meet on Tuesdays between 9:15am and 11:45am, and Creative Movement for Crawlers is held on an as-needed basis.
• Price: Caretaker & Me Toddler Dance and Creative Dance for Preschoolers cost $10 per class with a 6-class pass or $12 to drop in; Creative Movement for Crawlers costs $7 per class with a 6-week session or $8 to drop in; a 6-class pass for Caretaker & Me Toddler Dance or Creative Dance for Preschoolers is $60, and a single class is $12.

Dance Wilder states its mission as “Sharing Dance with the Very Young” and describes its classes as gender neutral, free spirited, and safe, with a focus on exploration of movement, improving rhythm and coordination, and allowing self expression through dance while having fun. The program describes its classes as go-at-your-own-pace and notes that caretakers may dance alongside, participate partially, or watch. Dance Wilder notes that “Dancing Wilder begins the moment your little one starts exploring the world on their own” and that it works with little crawlers who are delighted with music and movement.

Dance Wilder has joined forces with The Tannery World Dance and Cultural Center. New classes begin August 5, 2025. The program offers mini-recitals at the end of two 6-week sessions, usually on the weekend following the second session, where family and friends are invited to watch students show their moves. Classes have session breaks every 7 weeks and are occasionally canceled due to illness. A 6-class pass offers a discount, allows families to keep pre-paid classes without losing them, and to drop in any time while class is running. Creative Movement for Crawlers classes are held on an as-needed basis. First-time participants can test a class for free, barter is accepted, and registration for certain classes must be done through The Tannery website.
