The CKD Academy of Martial Arts was started in 2007 under the name Christensen’s Keichu-Do Academy. The academy is owned and operated by Sensei Travis Christensen and Sensei Heather Christensen, a brother-sister team of martial artists with over thirty years of combined teaching experience. At the CKD Academy of Martial Arts, the stated mission is to train students to achieve their best not just in martial arts but also in life. The academy offers a free trial class. Students are required to demonstrate proper and proficient techniques before being promoted to their next rank, and the academy emphasizes that knowledge and skill are more important than rank.
