Cayton Children’s Museum Programs include public programs, festivals, camps, classes, and workshops that use discovery-based exhibits and immersive play. The programs take place within 21,000 square feet of hands-on exhibits that invite children and families to explore ideas through play, curiosity, and open-ended discovery. The museum also offers interactive programs that bring children together through guided play, creative expression, and shared experiences, along with a robust calendar of arts and cultural activities for children and their families.

Cayton Children’s Museum is a nonprofit organization with a mission to activate the power of play to enrich the lives of children and their families, build stronger, more connected communities, and create a better world. It strives to nurture children of all backgrounds and abilities to become engaged citizens of the world by facilitating collaborative, experiential learning and creative expression in the museum space and through community programs. The organization opened the Cayton Children’s Museum to the public in 2019 and comes with 30 years of experience in values-based learning, previously operating as the Zimmer Children’s Museum. Community programs bring the Cayton experience into neighborhoods and schools throughout the year in partnership with nonprofit and community-based organizations in parts of Los Angeles County where opportunities for creative, safe, purposeful, and free play are needed most. The leadership team includes Thomas Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer; Cyndi Sorrell, Senior Business Manager; Susan Goldsmith, Chairperson; Aashika Patel, Vice Chair; and Heather Lindsey, Treasurer. The museum also offers annual membership with priority access, discounts, and exclusive events, as well as event space suitable for celebrations for babies to adults.
