About
Forge Makerspace Summer Camp gives kids hands-on time with real tools and machines, including 3D printing, woodworking, laser cutting, electronics, power tools, soldering, robotics, and using 3D pens. Campers work on specific builds such as building flashlights, exploring electronics and engineering, learning to design on real CAD, cutting on real saws, soldering real circuits, and 3D-printing what they invent. The program runs as an 11-week summer camp in 2026, with 11 weeks and 11 builds focused on real engineering each week.
• Ages: 6–13 years old
• Schedule: 11-week summer camp in 2026, with additional school-year hours and weekend options
• Price: $750 / wk for Summer Camp, billed weekly; $30 / hr for Open Makerspace; $145 / day for Day Camps; Birthday Parties from $950; Forge Academy tuition $285 / month, yearly tuition billed in monthly installments.
Every instructor at Forge Makerspace Summer Camp is CPR-certified and First-Aid trained. The program follows five core principles for every class: students learn by building and doing, students learn accountability, students are taught to be self-reliant, students are clean and organized, and students master skills. Safety instruction comes first every single day before anyone touches a machine, and kids earn visible gear badges for every skill mastered and project completed, which are displayed on a badge plate on the workshop wall. The camp keeps a small class size with a maximum of 6 students per instructor, and offers a counselor-in-training (CIT) program with 50% off camp tuition for older students who want to lead, along with a counselor track for older kids. Forge Makerspace also offers Open Makerspace time, including 40 minutes free per week for Forge Academy students, and birthday parties that include one engineering project every kid takes home. The stated goal of the program is: “The goal is simple: make it easy, fun, and safe for kids to start doing real engineering at a young age.”
Forge Makerspace was founded by Jeran Bruce, an engineer who spent more than nine years working with kids and teenagers before opening Forge. Parent Kari L. describes Forge as her 10-year-old son’s favorite place to be and notes that he has worked with a laser cutter, 3D printing programs, power tools, and more in weekly classes. Parent Tara S. calls it “the absolute best new space for kids” and says her son has been doing classes and open hours for the past few months and asks to go several times a week. Parent Amanda H. calls it an “incredible space for kids to explore electronics and engineering” and says the 3D printers are a highlight and mentions a “wonderful team of instructors.” Parent Rebecca S. shares that her kids enjoyed being creative with new tools, using 3D pens and 3D printers, and that they built their own flashlights.
