Fountaingrove Racquet Camps and Clinics
The Fountaingrove Club, 1525 Fountaingrove Pkwy, Santa Rosa, CA 95403
About
Fountaingrove Racquet Camps and Clinics offers tennis, golf, and swimming camps, along with private, semi-private, and group tennis lessons. The program also offers tennis clinics, including Men’s, Women’s, Mixed, and Junior tennis clinics, as well as drop-in tennis classes and pickleball.
• Schedule: Camps are offered each summer, June through August. Tennis clinics are offered during the spring, summer, and fall.
The racquet program is part of The Fountaingrove Club, which includes a golf course, fitness facilities, pool, tennis courts, four pickleball courts, and a 3,000 sq. ft. athletic-focused building with two group fitness studios and a golf studio featuring a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) space and a ForeSight Golf Simulator. The club also includes a clubhouse with the restaurant and bar Summit Kitchen & Cocktails, a Golf Shop, locker rooms, a Boardroom, and administrative offices. The racquet program is led by Head Racquet Professional Kevin Conroy and Tennis Professional Kevin Buyse.
The club’s mission is “to provide an exceptional private club experience and support a healthy lifestyle in an environment that fosters fun, camaraderie, and community." Fountaingrove is Sonoma County’s only member-owned, 18-hole, private facility and uses GPS-enabled golf carts. The clubhouse has a mid-century modern design with floor to ceiling windows, sliding glass doors, large patio space, and a showcase kitchen, and Summit Kitchen & Cocktails offers a seasonally updated menu.
The property has a long history that began in the 1870s with Thomas Lake Harris’s purchase of the 1,500-acre Fountaingrove Ranch. The ranch was sold after Kanaye Nagasawa’s death in 1934, and in 1983 the California Teacher’s Union built a championship golf course and clubhouse and operated it as a public facility until 1990. Fountaingrove was sold to RNM Properties in 1996, and in December 2002 a group of 18 individuals, Fountaingrove LLC, purchased the club, receiving approval from the Department of Corporations on August 1, 2003. Over the next 14 years the club grew in memberships and prestige, but in October 2017 the Tubbs Fire burned the clubhouse to the ground. In December 2021 the new clubhouse and Summit Kitchen & Cocktails opened, in 2024 a new 3,000 sq. ft. athletic-focused building was unveiled, and in October 2024 a multi-phase golf course improvement project was launched.
During and after the October 2017 Tubbs Fire, the Athletic Center served as a meeting place and safe haven for members and the wider community, and the club hosted meals and events on a daily basis. During this time the club started “Fountaingrove Fridays,” which welcomed both members and community members to the pool on Friday afternoons.
