• Ages: 4–17 years old
• Schedule: Junior Golf 365 meets after school and on weekends on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and PGA Family Golf meets on Tuesday and Saturday.
The BVGC Junior Linksters Golf Academy puts a special emphasis on junior golf instruction and adds group aspects to an individual sport. The academy’s PGA Director of Instruction leads the program and has a long history of working with juniors and developing a passion for golf. The BVGC Academy subscribes to the American Development Model.
Junior Golf 365 is the only year-round golf program for juniors in Santa Rosa. Bennett Valley participates in the 13 & Under, Redwood Empire PGA Junior League, with a team that is open to boys and girls 6–13 years old, and no previous golf experience is required. In this league, 9-hole matches take place over the summer in a 2-player scramble format, and participants play a variety of local courses in a low-pressure competitive team setting.
Active Start is for juniors aged 4–6 to learn golf fundamentals and become better movers. PGA Family Golf is structured so families sign up together, with juniors ages 4–17 participating while families learn the game and meet other families.
Bennett Valley Golf Course (BVGC), where the academy operates, opened in 1969 and features a driving range with both natural grass and artificial mats, as well as a large practice putting green. The BVGC Junior Linksters Golf Academy states that it strives to create a sense of community for program participants by adding group aspects to an individual sport.
