PHAS3 Martial Arts is founded and led by instructor and owner Ben Brown, a world class coach who has been teaching martial arts for over 47 years and has taught at this location for over 20 years. Ben Brown began training in martial arts at age 5, grew up in his father's martial arts school, and started teaching at age 14. He has trained military and law enforcement, taught self-defense across the globe including in Taiwan, and is a lifelong student and friend of Muay Thai legend and UFC coach Jongsanan Fairtex, also known as the “Woodenman.” Ben Brown is the first man in America to be certified by Jongsanan Fairtex and trains champion-level combat athletes who compete and win internationally. He has successfully improved the physical fitness of individuals ranging from NFL football players to stay-at-home moms and is also a public and motivational speaker.

PHAS3 Martial Arts states that it is committed to unlocking the full potential of every individual through the transformative power of martial arts, with programs that focus on instilling discipline, enhancing confidence, and nurturing resilience, and that it views martial arts as a path to personal growth and empowerment. It has been awarded the Go2 Karate Distinction Award for Santa Rosa, CA, recognizing its dedication to community enrichment and strengthening the local community and its members through martial arts training. Parent feedback includes a testimonial from Barbara Schilling, who states that she has been at PHAS3 for years and that the people there are the nicest people she has ever worked with, ending with “Mind, Body, Spirit!” Another parent, Megan Bearg, reports that her family has been coming for 7 years and that the program has contributed to her children’s confidence, noting lessons in respect, discipline, and character and describing the coaches as excellent with kids, tough, funny, and motivating. For a first class, participants are instructed to wear something comfortable and bring water, and all minors must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
