Santa Rosa Flyers Youth Programs offers Intro To Hockey, Little Sharks - Learn to Play, House, Mites 8U, and Travel Hockey. Intro To Hockey practices are usually on Sunday mornings at 7am, and Little Sharks - Learn to Play meets on Saturdays from 9:00AM to 10:00AM. House is an intermediate hockey program, Mites 8U is a travel team that plays cross ice games, and Travel Hockey includes teams in 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and Sharks High School League.

Programs

• Intro To Hockey — Ages five (5) and up; existing players and new players over 10 should register; if new and between 5 and 9, Little Sharks is recommended first · Practices are Sunday mornings, usually at 7am
• House — 9-17 years of age · Intermediate hockey program for children 9-17 who are ready to move out of Intro but do not want the time commitment of Travel Hockey or it is the wrong time of year to join Travel.
• Mites 8U — 8 years old or younger · Travel team for kids who are 8 years old or younger. They do not travel as much as the older kids and play cross ice games.
• Travel Hockey — 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and Sharks High School League; ages January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2017 · Plays in NorCal (8U, 10U, 12U, 14U) and Sharks High School League. Season usually runs from August to March.
• Little Sharks - Learn to Play — Aged 5-10 years old; players who will turn 11 years old before the conclusion of the program may join Intro To Hockey instead · Saturdays 9:00AM - 10:00AM · $270

About the provider

The Santa Rosa Flyers state that everyone can play hockey and that their mission is to grow the passion of hockey in everyone who is interested. The leadership team includes Chris Woida, Head Coach, and Micah Carlin-Goldberg, Interim Intro Coordinator. The site lists 10 CAHA State Championships, 13 NorCal Championships, and 17 Collegiate Commitments, Juniors, and Professional Players. It also says the club welcomes new coaches to help on the ice, pays the costs associated with completing CEP certification for coaches, and encourages children to take advantage of Snoopy’s public skate sessions and skating program.

Ages five and up are welcomed for Intro provided they can skate on their own and there are no safety concerns from coaching staff. If a child has special learning needs, call Coach Woida before registration. All players must have a current USA Hockey number. Intro does not fill up; there will be space after April 1st to register. For Little Sharks, participants must register online; phone and in-person registration at individual rinks will not be accepted. If preferred locations are sold out, a waiting list form may be completed.
