The Sonoma County Family YMCA states that it is an inclusive, charitable organization that focuses on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The organization notes more than 100 years of camping experience in YMCA camps, offers financial assistance with reduced rates for income-eligible families, and provides a sibling discount of 10% per session for each additional child enrolled in concurrent sessions. ACH (Autopay) is listed as the preferred method of payment, and the campus is smoke-free. For camps located at Rohnert Park schools Hahn, Monte Vista, La Fiesta, Thomas Page, and Lawrence Jones Middle School, registration is through Activity Hero via the school district.

All camper Health History & Medical Release forms are due on the first day of camp, and a copy of the child’s immunization record is required. Parents are asked to inform staff of any allergies or special health conditions, and injuries or other accidents are to be reported immediately to the staff supervisor on duty. The YMCA recommends that valuables be left at home and states it is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Animals are not allowed in the facility except identified service dogs, and animals are not to be left unattended on YMCA grounds.

The Sonoma County Family YMCA notes that it is committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other applicable accessibility laws and regulations. The YMCA also offers the Y360 virtual platform as a free benefit for all Y membership categories. A parent testimonial states, “My son was very anxious about attending camp, and after the first day he informed us that he ‘Loves it!’ Now, when I wake him up in the morning, he’ll ask if it’s a camp day. When I tell him it is, there’s a loud ‘yes!’ with a fist pump. Thank you for making camp a good place to be.” The YMCA’s history in Sonoma County includes its founding in 1954, a program and physical education facility built near downtown Santa Rosa in 1972, an Activity Center added in 1993, a teaching pool added in 1995, and lobby, Child Watch, and a 4,700 square foot 2nd Story Fitness Center added between 2003 and 2005.
