About
Cloverleaf Ranch offers sleepaway camp and day camp, along with trail rides and riding lessons. The program also hosts riding events and CHA clinic events. In addition to camp and riding activities, Cloverleaf Ranch offers birthday party packages and can host birthdays, weddings, and custom large or corporate events, with open house tours of the facility available by appointment.
Cloverleaf Ranch is a family-owned working Western ranch that has been in the same family since 1947. Ron DeGrange has been involved in all aspects of the camp since 1963, and Ron and Ginger DeGrange took over directing Cloverleaf Ranch in 1974. Shawna DeGrange has been directly involved with the program since 1999, has been the camp Director since 2003, and became Head Director of the Ranch in 2007; she is also listed as the owner. Shawna’s education was centered around Early Childhood Development, and she minored in tennis, dance, and horse mastership; she is a certified rifle instructor and Certified Archery Instructor. Ron DeGrange holds a California Community College credential in physical education and horsemastership. Ginger DeGrange holds credentials as a French and English instructor and has been a Horse Science instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College since 1971.
The program’s stated mission is based on a promise made by the founder’s grandparents to parents to provide a safe, fun place for a “vacation of a lifetime,” and it states that this commitment continues with the belief that children will have a summer they will never forget. Shawna DeGrange established the non-profit Charm’s Place in 2012 to provide scholarships for camp to children in need. She has worked with local Rotary clubs, volunteered as a mentor in the “Girls on the Run” program, joined and supported BRONC (Barn and Ranch Owners of Northern California), and served as president of the Mark West Chamber of Commerce. Shawna heads up the American Camp Association’s Accreditation Team and received the Spirit of Sonoma Award in 2015. Ginger DeGrange has received awards including Grand National Rodeo Queen in 1963, Sonoma County Rodeo Queen in 1964, and California State Rodeo Princess in 1966.
