About

The Little Big Riding School Kids Camps include horseback riding lessons, trail riding, horse grooming, horse bathing, general equine care, and trail skills. Campers also take part in crafts related to the camp theme, a horse decorating contest, and a Christmas-themed horse decorating contest during Winter Camp. In the Basic Camp there is a lot of on-horse time, and horses are shared with a class partner, while in the Your Horse Camp horses are not shared and each student has the same horse all week.

Cindy McClellan owns The Little Big Riding School and has been actively involved with horses since age 5, trained under local trainers Tom Shelly and Sandy Collier, and has managed ranches since 1982 in Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez, California. The Little Big Riding School was established in 1994 and has 40 years of experience as the longest running western riding school for little people in the Santa Ynez Valley and surrounding areas. Cindy is a member of the Santa Ynez Valley Equestrian Association and a past member of Santa Ynez Valley Trail Riders, The Fillies, Valley Penners Association, and The National Barrel Horse Association, and she has participated in many events with Rancheros Vistadores. Parents are always welcome to attend the camps, and many students return for after-school, Western horseback riding lessons and trail-riding activities throughout the year. Lunches are not included and must be brought each day, and families are told to bring sunscreen, water, and snacks, with helmets and boots available at the program. Space is limited, camps fill up quickly, and a 50% deposit is required to reserve a spot, with no refunds after June 1st.
